The Mantell-Hecathorn family has always been active as volunteers and leaders in their community. They have always felt that supporting and helping  the local small communities in which they live is important  Their three sons all achieved Eagle Scout rank while being active in Boy Scouts for eight or more years each.

4. Tara was a team parent for various high school sports for 8 years
   

5. Tara was a volunteer science teacher for the local elementary schools 
   

6. Greg and Tara were the coordinators and parent builders for the high school homecoming floats
